Lori & Jim's Great Florida Adventure - Day 14

Day 14

Today we said goodbye to Florida and began our trek home. We traveled from Tampa through Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, mostly on Interstates, to land for the night in Statesville, NC. We had terrible, bumper-to-bumper, stop and go traffic around Charlotte, NC, but otherwise the driving was good. Along the way we found Waldo

And a water tower Jacob would love at the South Carolina/North Carolina border.

Tomorrow we trek onward and we'll see how far we get, maybe Pittsburgh, maybe Erie, maybe home!

Lori & Jim's Great Florida Adventure - Day 13

Day 13

Last night when we first checked into our hotel, we only planned to stay 1 night.  Later we decided to add a night and I'm so glad we did!  We spent the entire day today at Busch Gardens!  We didn't get back to the hotel until 7:00 tonight, too late to want to hit the road for sure.

We had a great day at Busch Gardens today!  We saw lots of animals, went on safari and fed a giraffe, rode a train and the river raft ride (no rollercoasters for us), got soaked on that river raft ride, and saw 1 show.  It was a great day all around!  Here are pictures I took today.

This is Ruby, a 5 year old reticulated giraffe, following our truck.

Ruby is the giraffe we got to feed and pet.  Amazing!

That's Jim's arm feeding her.

Tiger paw from underneath

Orangutan on a hammock hanging under an observation area in the floor.

This guy came over to the window . . .

And sat just opposite these kids and stared at them!

The river raft ride!  So much fun!

And did we ever get soaked!
